Opportunity with SWAT

Youth applying for the SWAT scholarship are applying for opportunities to make a difference with their peers, to prevent tobacco, and vaping, among other students at their schools and in their community.

If awarded the SWAT scholarship, students will be the leaders of their school SWAT group, facilitate the meetings and help plan activities.

SWAT leaders learn to grow their leaderships skills, social skills, advocating skills, etc. They go to capitol day and to the leadership youth summit. As a SWAT leader they represent the SWAT program at local city council meetings.

SWAT leaders build their SWAT groups by recruiting peers to help educate about the dangers of tobacco. The students recruited under the SWAT leader will fill out a separate application form.
