Our Health Promotions Director, Ashley Linschoten, and Health Educator, Daniel Jackson, met with Matt and Chaunte of 98.5 FM to discuss the Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) Scholarship. This year, two students in the SWAT program from the class of 2025 will be awarded  $1,000-$4,000 to go towards post high school ventures.

SWAT is a peer to peer tobacco prevention club sponsored by the TriCounty Health Department, and is open to all high school students. Students who apply for the scholarship become leaders of their school’s SWAT group and will have the opportunity to facilitate meetings, help plan activities, and grow their SWAT groups by recruiting peers.

Applications are due April 19, 2024 and recipients will be announced May 3, 2024.
